CHAPTER 143,

Passed March 6,
1823.

An act to change the place of holding elections in the second
election district of Anne Arundel county.

Place designated

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
elections hereafter to be held in the second election district in
Arme Arundel county, shall be held at the house now occupied
by William Legg, in said election district, any law to the con-
trary notwithstanding,

 

CHAPTER 144.

Passed March 8,

1823

An act to authorise the Levy Court of Prince George's county
to sell a lot of public land in the town e f Upper Marlbo-
rough.

Sale authorised.
Invest proceeds

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Levy Coun of Prince George's county be,
and they are hereby authorised to sell at public or private
sale, at their discretion, any one lot of ground lying and being
in the town of Upper Marlborough, belonging to said county,
on the best possible terms, and after the purchase money shall
have been paid, to give a good and sufficient deed for the
same.
SEC 2, And be enacted, That the Levy Court of said county
be, and they are hereby authorised and required to invest in
some productive fund, the nett proceeds of said sale, and ap-
propriate the interest or dividend therein, annually, in aid of
the county levy.

 

CHAPTER 145.

1828.

An act to provide for electing Commissioners for Cecil county
and prescribing their powers and duties.

ification of com-
missioners-returns
thereof— recorded.

SECTION. 1.Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the persons qualified to vote for delegates to the
General Assembly, in. Cecil county, shall at the time
and places of election in said county, that is to say for hold-
ing the election of delegates to the next General Assembly,
and at the same, time in every three years, thereafter,
vote by ballot for one person, a resident In the first dis-
trict, two pers us in the second district, one in the third dis-
trict, and one in the fourth district, having the same qualifica-
tions as are or shall be required for such delegates, to be a,
Commissioner for Cecil county, and the judges of election for
each district in said county, or a majority of them, shall cer-
tify under their hands, and return in a form and manner simi-
lar to their certificates and return of the election of delegates
aforesaid, the number of votes given in their said respective
