SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the commissioners afore-
said, when they shall have completed their valuation as afore-
said, and done all other things required of them by this act,
shall make out a copy of their proceedings, setting forth in
the same, a full description of the kind by them valued, for
the establishment of the light house, or light houses aforesaid,
together with the road to the same, and all other matters and
things connected with the said valuation, and the perform-
ance of the duties assigned them by this act; and the said co-
py fairh written out, they shall subscribe their names, and
thereto set their seals, and they shall deposit the same in the
office of the clerk of the county court, and the said clerk of
the said court, shall preserve a record of the said proceedings,
for the recording of which he. shall be entitled to the same
fee which he receives for other records, to be paid by the par-
ties.

An act to authorise the building a bridge across the Sassafras
river from Water street, adjoining lot number twenty-six, in
Fredericktown, in Cecil county, to James Mitchell's wharf,
adjoining the public landing in Georgetown, in Kent county.

Authenticity to build
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That James Mitchell, his heirs and assigns, or other le-
gal representatives, be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to build a bridge at their own proper cost and
expense, over the Sassafras river, from Water street, adjoin-
ing lot number twenty-six, in Frederick town, in Cecil coun-
ty, to James Mitchell's wharf, adjoining the public landing
in Georgetown, in Kent county; the said bridge to be builr of
good and substantial materials, with a railing on each side
thereof, and a draw in said bridge allowing the free naviga-
tion of said river, to be sufficiently wide for all vessels or
boats now or hereafter navigating said river.

Property vested—

SEC, 2. And be it enacted^ That the property in said bridge,
when built, shall be vested in the said James Mitchell, his
heirs and assigns forever, and that the said James Mitchell,
his heirs or assigns, or other legal representatives, shall and
may demand and receive toll for the passage of the said bridge
which is at this time allowed by Cecil and Kent county courts,,
to the terry boats passing across said river to and from the
said towns; and it the soid James Mitchell, his heirs or assigns,
or whoever here alter shall own or possess said bridge, shall,
exact or receive any greater rate of toll for passing said bridge
than is herein prescribed, he or they shall forfeit and pay for
every sue h ofience the sum of twenty dollars, one moiety to-
the party plaining, or who niay sue for the same, and the
other money to the state,

SEC, 3, Anu be tt enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
owner or owners of said bridge to keep a sufficient number of
hands at all times readv for the purpose of raising the said
