LIBRARY

Our library has continued to grow through gift, exchange, sub-
scription, and purchase. During the past year, we added about one
hundred and ten books and pamphlets to the library. This brings our
total number of items to approximately 6,000.

In addition to the usual titles which we receive regularly each
year, we have added many genealogical publications. Among these arc
the genealogies of the Butterworth, Barrackman, Black, McKay, and
Holliday families. The Maryland State Society, Daughters of the Amer-
ican Revolution has continued to give us invaluable source records.
Among these are the Index to the Prince George's Parish Register,
compiled by Mrs. Helen W. Brown, and The Tombstone Records from
Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, a gift from the Bottony Cross Chapter.

We have continued to supplement our holdings of count}' and
municipal codes as is required by statute.

As during previous years, we have continued to limit the number
of volumes purchased. In this latter category are Aubrey Bodine's The
Face of Maryland, Philip Hamer's A Guide to Archives and Manu-
scripts, and Christopher Colics' Survey of the Roads o] the United
States m 1789.
