Unless otherwise noted, the beginning date, 1851, is the point
at which the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints terminated
its microfilming project in Maryland. The final date, 1949, is that of
the beginning of regular microfilming of county land records by the
various clerks of court. The copies which they make are sent to the
Commissioner of the Land Office annually.

After fiscal year 1962, there remained to be done seven counties
and Baltimore City. At this writing, Garrett County is finished except
for retakes, Allegany County is almost finished, and Kent County is
well-begun. St. Mary's, Dorchester and Somerset have not been touched.
Montgomery is being done by the Clerk of the Court and he has now
progressed to the 1940's. Baltimore City, which is a project of the
Clerk of the Superior Court, is now at 1905.

of manuscript records has proceeded at a high level, as has the binding
of the record volumes when they have been restored.

Perhaps there should be some explanation of several of the items
listed below. The post binders referred to are of a non-commercial
