United States, came to pursue this work in the Maryland archives.
The Union Catalogue of manuscript holdings in the United States, long
urged by every organization with historical interests, has finally been
given a start by a grant to The Library of Congress. Preliminary work
has been made a responsibility of Lester K. Born, who visited us to

Library of Congress for twenty years.
