After a year of many staff changes incident to the initiation of our
Records Management Program, it is gratifying to report a return to the sta-
bility of the preceding several years. In General Administration, the change
in name of the senior account clerk was only that. Miss Benning became Mrs.
Tollevik in the course of the year. There was no change of any kind in the
Archival Administration staff.

In Records Management, Mr. Rex Beach appears for the first time as
head of the division. He assumed these duties, however, June 30, 1954; but
since Mr. Johnson had held the position for almost the entire year, his name
was given in the report. Mrs. Helen E. Stevens resigned June 30, 1954, after
a year with us, to return to the federal service. She was succeeded on July 20,
1954, by Mrs. Anne B. Sindall, who resigned in turn on April 5, 1955, as she
was expecting a child. This position was filled the next day by Mrs. Mary E.
Martin. Miss Beryl E. Gardner, who had come to the Hall of Records in Sep-
tember 1948, resigned September 21, 1954. Miss Gardner had married in
August, and she left to make her home on the West Coast. She was succeeded
on October 11, 1954, by Mr. Thomas Wilds.
