The Hanson papers contain a wide variety of material collected by
George A. Hanson, author of Old Kent. Among many interesting items
in this large collection are a letter of Robert Morris dated 1786, two letters
of Jefferson Davis dated 1855 and 1856 and a fascinating account of a
duel fought with pistols in 1805.
