Unfortunately, we were not able to put into effect the binding pro-
gram which we had thought possible. The lack of proper equipment and
sufficient training for the special kind of binding required for record
volumes were difficult to overcome. We hope that the coming fiscal year
will be more fruitful. Only nine volumes and three brochures were bound.
Among the miscellaneous tasks of this department were cleaning and flat-
tening parchments, maps, and photographs for the Hall of Records; mend-
ing and strengthening printed books in our library; maintaining a scrap book
for the Hall of Records and assisting in the preparation of exhibits.
