CIRCULATION
While the number of visitors during the fiscal year 1950 did not equal
the total for the fiscal year 1949, it did exceed that for any other year. It
is difficult to know why the total should have dropped at all, but it is
possible that fiscal year 1949 saw many researchers and historians who had
postponed their visits or set them forward in order to spend part of the
Tercentenary year in Annapolis. The Tercentenary, of course, brought
many more tourists and casual visitors to the Hall of Records than is usual
but only working visitors are counted—that is those who call for the use
of materials preserved in our vaults—we do not attempt to count those
who see our exhibits.
