ARCHIVIST OF THE HALL OF RECORDS 25
A few more Executive Papers came from the Maryland Historical Society,
and we transferred the correspondence of Governor O'Conor for the last
two years of his administration. Collecting and arranging this large and
valuable mass of materials will probably be a continuing task as there are
many large gaps in the executive files which we hope will be filled gradually.
Other large collections of records came from the office of the Comp-
troller and from the Treasurer. All the early unbound records of the Som-
erset County Register of Wills, with the exception of the Original Wills,
were transferred to the Hall of Records as were a large collection of
similar papers from the Frederick County Register of Wills. Other records
came from Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, Talbot, Washington
and Worcester Counties.
