PUBLIC AND PROFESSIONAL RELATIONS
For the second year the Hall of Records cooperated with the
American University and the National Archives in offering, under
the direction of Professor Ernst Posner, an intensive training course
in the Preservation and Administration of Archives. The course
was given for the three weeks from June 15 through July 6, 1946.
The class spent three days in Annapolis where they studied Repair
and Preservation, Indexing, Photographic Reproduction and Ad-
ministrative Procedures. The Archivist was assisted in teaching
these courses by Mr. William J. Barrow of the Virginia State Li-
brary, and Mrs. Moss, Mrs. Rawlings, Mr. Skordas and Mr. Thomas
of the Hall of Records staff.
Various members of the staff participated in the work of the
Society of American Archivists. The Archivist, after serving five
years as a member of Council, was chosen vice-president for the
year beginning November 1945. He is also a member of the Ar-
chival Buildings Committee. Mr. Thomas is serving as a member
of the Publicity Committee for the third successive year and Mr.
Skordas has been named technical editor of the Society's journal,
The American Archivist. Reviews were published by Mr. Skordas
and the Archivist.
On December 11, 1945 a meeting of the association of Mary-
land Clerks of the Court and their deputies was held at Carvel Hall.
