1805 MARYLAND IMPRINTS
was first announced on Sept. 23, 1805; in the advertise-
ment of that date in the Baltimore Federal Gazette ap-
peared the notice: "Catalogues may be had gratis."
Probably the catalogue advertised in the Baltimore
American, Jan. 31, 1806, as "Saturday Evening ... in ad-
dition to ... New Books, will be sold a Valuable Library
of Second-hand Books ... catalogues of the whole, will
be ready for delivery on Saturday morning;" and on Apr.
18, 1806, as "To be sold by auction, to morrow ... Sev-
eral thousand volumes of Books in Sheets. The particu-
lars of which may be obtained from the printed cata-
logues ... ready for delivery this morning."

[Catalogue of books at their first sale. Baltimore,
1805;,
Advertised in the Baltimore Federal Gazette, Dec. 31,
1804, as "Their first sale will be held on Saturday
evening next, January 5. Catalogues may be had, and the
books viewed any time during the day."
The remainder of the advertisement concerns their go-
ing into partnership.
