CHAP. 53.

Rules to be esta-

blished

for that purpose, and fitted up under the direeiion of the exe-
cutive.
2. And be it further enacted. That the president of the
senate, and .speaker of the house of delegates, for the lime be-
ing, be and they are hereby empowered to establish such regu-
lations, in relation to the library, so collected, as to them shall
seem proper, and from time to time to alter or amend the same,
provided that no regulation shall be repugnant to the provisions
of this act.

point librarian

3. And be it further enacted, Th.it the executive shall ap-
point some qualified person as librarian, whose duty it shall be
to collect all books, maps and documents aforesaid, and deposit
the same in the manner provided by the first section of this sct;
and the librarian so appointed, previous to entering upon the
duties of his office, shall give bond to the state of Maryland, in
such sum, and with such security, as the executive may deem
Sufficient, for the safe keeping of such books, maps, documents,
and furniture of the room, in which the same may be deposited
and confided to his care, and also for the faithful discharge of
his trust, according to such regulations as may from time to
time be established under the authority of this act, which said
bond shall be deposited in the executive chamber.

4. And be it further enacted, That no book, map or docu-
ment, shall be allowed to be taken out of said library, except by
the executive, members of the general assembly, and judges of
the court of appeals.

Salary of librarian

5. And be it further enacted, That the librarian shall an-
nually receive for his services a salary not exceeding two hun-
dred and twenty-five dollars.

6. And be it further enacted. That the sum of two hun-
dred dollars be appropriated annually, for the purchase of books
and maps, for the augmentation of the aforesaid library which
shall be laid out under the direction of a joint committee of
three members of the senate, and three from the house of dele-
gates, to be appointed for that purpose.

An Act Cor the benefit of Mary Davis, of Washington County.

Divorce granted

1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Mary Davis, of Washington county, be, and she is hereby
divorced from bed, board and mutual cohabitation, with her hus-
band, John Davis.

claim title to any
property of said
Mary.

2. And be it enacted, That the said John Davis shall net, by
Tirtue of his marriage, with the said Mary Davis, be in any
manner entitled to, and that the said John Davis shall not be
authorised to have or claim any right, title or interest, in the es-
tate, real, personal or mixed, of the said Mary Davis, whether
Required by the said Mary Davis prior to, or to be acquired by
her after the passage of this act, nor shall the said Mary Davis
be in any manner entitled to have or claim any right, title or
interest, in thp estate, real, personal or mixed, of the said, John
Davis, whether acquired by the said John Davis prior to, or to
be acquired by him after the passage qf this act
