But this provision shall not be so construed as to ex-
tend to any alphabets or indices made to the dockets
of actions, suits or prosecutions.
For all other services matters or things, not herein
before particularly enumerated, and for which no
specific allowance may have been already provid-
ed, the same fees as are herein after prescribed and
allowed to the clerks of the several county courts of
this state, for the like or similar services, and no more.

To the Clerks of

County Courts
and Baltimore Ci-
ty Court

4. And be it enacted, That from and after the commence
ment of the operation of this aet, there shall be limited and al-
lowed to the Clerk of each County Court in this State, and to the
Clerk of Baltimore City Court, for services thereafter rendered
in virtue of their respective offices, instead of the fees hereto-
fore rated and established by law, the following fees, agreea-
bly to the particular arrangement and classification thereof, and
no more; that is to say,
1. In prosecutions either at Law or in Equity, usually de-
nominated " Civil Cases."
For filing every declaration, pleading, order, or other
paper, matter or thing, necessary or required to be
filed in his office, (to be charged but once,) for each, 5 cts,
For the docket entry of every personal appearance of
each individual party, whether plaintiff or defend-
ant, appellant or appellee, or for the appearance of
an attorney for either party, 5 cts.
For the docket entry of every bail piece, or taking
and entering every special bail in court, 5 cts.
For the docket entry of every imparlance, to be charg-
ed to the party defendant only, 5 cts»
For the docket entry of every continuance or refer-
ence, to be charged to the plaintiff only, 5 cts.
For the docket entry of every rule or order to declare
or plead, of every motion, leave, or other rale en-
tered by order of the court, 5 cts.
For the docket entry of a default or amerciament of
any sheriff or coroner, 5 cts.
For entering defalcation, amerciament, bail, or other
proceeding of the court, stricken out, 5 cts,
For making up the issue or issues, in fact or law, for
trial, in any suit, 15 cts.
For entering an action agreed, satisfied, discontinued,,
struck off, abated, quashed or dismissed, 5 cts.
For the docket entry of every declaration, plea or an-
swer, replication, demurrer or joinder thereto, or
any other pleading, and of every relicta verifica-
tions, 5 cts.
For drawing and empannelling every petit jury, 25 cts.
For swearing every petit jury, and entry of the pan-
tie! thereof, 50cts
For every copy of the pannel, 5 cts.
For a venire facias for jurors or talismen, issued fay
order of the court, 10 cts
For administering every oath or affirmation in court,
other than to jurors, 3 cts
