Ch. 237 LAWS OF MARYLAND
THE LICENSEE SUBMITS TO THE BOARD:

(1) AN APPLICATION FOR INACTIVE STATUS ON THE FORM
REQUIRED BY THE BOARD; AND

(2) THE INACTIVE STATUS FEE SET BY THE BOARD.

(B) THE BOARD SHALL ISSUE A LICENSE TO AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS

ON INACTIVE STATUS IF THE INDIVIDUAL:

(1) SUBMITS TO THE BOARD:

(I) SATISFACTORY EVIDENCE OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS THE BOARD ADOPTS FOR
THIS PURPOSE; AND

(II) A REINSTATEMENT FEE SET BY THE BOARD; AND

(2) IS OTHERWISE ENTITLED TO BE LICENSED.

[14-503.

(a) Unless the Board agrees to accept the surrender of a license, a licensed
physician may not surrender the license nor may the license lapse by operation of law
while the licensee is under investigation or while charges are pending against the
physician.

(b) The Board may set conditions on its agreement with the physician under
investigation or against whom charges are pending to accept surrender of the
physician's license.]

14-503.

(A) UNLESS THE BOARD AGREES TO ACCEPT THE SURRENDER OF A
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL THE
BOARD REGULATES, THE INDIVIDUAL MAY NOT SURRENDER THE
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION NOR MAY THE LICENSE,
CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION LAPSE BY OPERATION OF LAW
WHILE THE INDIVIDUAL IS UNDER INVESTIGATION OR WHILE CHARGES
ARE PENDING.

(B) THE BOARD MAY SET CONDITIONS ON ITS AGREEMENT TO
ACCEPT SURRENDER OF A LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION.

(C) NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO PREVENT
OR LIMIT THE DISCLOSURE OF GENERAL LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION,
OR REGISTRATION INFORMATION MAINTAINED BY THE BOARP, JF THE
REQUEST FOR RELEASE COMPLIES WITH THE CRITERIA OF § 10-617(H) OF
THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE.
