SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

[128A.

(a) In this section, "weekend prisoner" means a prisoner under the jurisdiction
of the sheriff of Cecil County, whose sentence is to be performed during any 48-hour
period in any 7-day period, with each period of confinement to constitute not less than
2 days of the sentence imposed.

(b) The County Commissioners of Cecil County may collect from a "weekend
prisoner" an amount determined to be the cost to the county of providing food, lodging,
and clothing for the prisoner. The court may waive any or all of this charge.]

645U.

[(e) (1) In this section, "weekend prisoner" means a prisoner under the
jurisdiction of the Sheriff of Harford County, whose sentence is to be performed during
any 48-hour period or any portion thereof in any 7-day period, with each period of
confinement to constitute not less than 2 days of the sentence imposed.

(2) Harford County may collect from a "weekend prisoner" an amount
determined to be the cost to the county of providing food, lodging, and clothing for the
prisoner. The court may waive any or all of this charge.]

[645DD.

(a) In this section, "weekend prisoner" means a prisoner sentenced to the
Howard County Detention Center for nonconsecutive periods of 48 hours or less per
week.

(b) Howard County may collect from a "weekend prisoner" a fee for food and
lodging in an amount not to exceed the average cost for feeding and housing a prisoner.

(c) To implement this section, Howard County shall adopt reasonable
regulations that may include a provision for waiver of some portion or all of the fee
