AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - County Officers and Employees - Benefits

FOR the purpose of providing that the County Commissioners of Garrett County may
provide a pension and retirement benefit plan for county officers and employees;
providing that the County Commissioners may provide group health and hospital
insurance benefits for retired county officers and employees; and generally
relating to authorized benefits for Garrett County officers and employees.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

(g-4) In Garrett County the County Commissioners may [establish and maintain]
PROVIDE group health and hospital insurance BENEFITS AND A PENSION AND
RETIREMENT BENEFIT PLAN for [the benefit of] county officers and employees.
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ALSO MAY PROVIDE GROUP HEALTH
AND HOSPITAL INSURANCE BENEFITS FOR RETIRED COUNTY OFFICERS
AND EMPLOYEES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
