27.

(A) ANY LOCAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY MAY APPLY TO THE
DIRECTOR FOR A STATE GRANT FOR THE COST OF:

(1) THE PLANNING, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, ACQUISITION,
CONVERSION, RENOVATION, OR IMPROVEMENT OF A PROJECT;

(2) THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN
FOR PROJECTS IN A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION;

(3) THE PURCHASE OF CAPITAL EQUIPMENT FOR A PROJECT;
OR

(4) THE SUBGRANT TO A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOR
THE PURPOSES PROVIDED IN SUBPARAGRAPHS (I) THROUGH (III) OF
THIS PARAGRAPH.

(B) WHEN THE DIRECTOR HAS APPROVED THE PROJECT AND
PROJECT PLANS, THE DIRECTOR SHALL REPORT THE APPLICATION TO
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS, DESCRIBING THE SCOPE OF THE
PROJECT, AND RECOMMEND THAT THE BOARD MAKE AVAILABLE THE
FUNDS REQUESTED.

(C) THE DIRECTOR MAY ADOPT REGULATIONS TO IMPLEMENT THE
PROVISIONS OF- §§ 26 THROUGH 32 OF THIS SUBTITLE. BEFORE
ADOPTION, SUCH REGULATIONS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.

28.

EACH GRANTEE MAY DO USE THE GRANT FOR ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING PURPOSES:

(1) ACQUIRE THE PROJECT;

(2) CONSTRUCT THE PROJECT;

(3) HOLD PLAN THE PROJECT;

(4) IMPROVE THE PROJECT;

(5) LEASE THE PROJECT AS A LESSEE OR LESSOR;

(5) (6) LEASE THE PROJECT AS A LESSEE OR LESSOR DESIGN
THE PROJECT;

(6) £71 MAINTAIN THE PROJfe€¥ CONVERT PUBLIC BUILDINGS
OR PARTS OF BUILDINGS TO SENIOR CITIZEN ACTIVITIES CENTERS;

(7) (8) OPERATE RENOVATE THE PROJECT;
(8) OWN THE PROJECT;
