Article 89 - Division of Labor and Industry

The provisions of the subtitle shall apply with respect to working conditions in all
work places within the State of Maryland except that nothing in this subtitle shall apply
to:

(2) Working conditions of employees whose occupational safety and health
are protected under the following federal laws: The Atomic Energy Act of 1954, (42
U. S. C. 2021); [the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969] THE FEDERAL
MINE SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT OF 1977, (30 U. S. C. 801)[; the Federal Metal
and Nonmetallic Mine Safety Act, (30 U. S. C. 721)]; and the Longshoremen's and
Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, (33 U. S. C. 901).

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

(c) (1) Anne Arundel County, Prince George's County, and Kent County[,]
shall secure compensation to volunteer firemen and volunteer rescue squadmen, or to
their dependents in the case of death, by means of insurance in the State Accident
Fund, or in any private stock company or mutual association licensed to provide such
insurance.
