certified public accountant according to generally accepted auditing and accounting
standards.]

(n) (1) A professional solicitor shall provide the Secretary of State, within 3
months from the end of each fund-raising drive, campaign, or event, an accounting,
under oath, of all funds received and disbursed on a gross basis on forms prescribed by
the Secretary of State. The professional solicitor and an authorized official of the
charitable organization for which the professional solicitor is soliciting contributions
shall sign the accounting and certify that it is true to the best of their knowledge.

(2) IF A PROFESSIONAL SOLICITOR APPLIES TO RENEW ITS
REGISTRATION BEFORE FILING THE ACCOUNTING DUE UNDER
PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION. THE PROFESSIONAL SOLICITOR
SHALL SUBMIT WITH ITS APPLICATION EITHER:

(I) THE ACCOUNTING REPORT REQUIRED UNDER
PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION; OR

(II) AN INTERIM ACCOUNTING REPORT, UNDER OATH,
THAT ACCOUNTS FOR ALL FUNDS RECEIVED AND DISBURSED ON A
GROSS BASIS FOR THE FUND-RAISING DRIVE, CAMPAIGN, OR EVENT,
CURRENT THROUGH A DATE NO EARLIER THAN 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE
EXPIRATION DATE OF THE PROFESSIONAL SOLICITOR'S REGISTRATION.

(3) THE INTERIM ACCOUNTING REPORT DESCRIBED IN
PARAGRAPH (2)(II) OF THIS SUBSECTION SHALL BE IN A FORM
PRESCRIBED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s) 3-207(j)
through (n), respectively, of Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative
Departments of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s)
3-207 (i) through (m), respectively.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
