Ch. 146 LAWS OF MARYLAND
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
155.
(s-1) (1) In Somerset County [the members of the board shall receive as
compensation the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) annually] EACH OF THE
MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, EXCEPT THE CHAIRMAN, SHALL RECEIVE AN
ANNUAL SALARY OF $1,800, AND THE CHAIRMAN SHALL RECEIVE AN
ANNUAL SALARY OF $2,000.
(2) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL PROVIDE A SUM
SUFFICIENT TO PAY FOR THE SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD.
(2) (3) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL MAY PROVIDE
A SUM SUFFICIENT TO PAY FOR ALL EXPENSES OF THE BOARD,
INCLUDING:
(t) SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD;
(II) SALARIES OF OTHER PERSONNEL; AND
(I) SALARIES OF PERSONNEL OTHER THAN MEMBERS OF
THE BOARD; AND
(III) (II) COSTS OF PRINTING, SUPPLIES, AND OTHER
EXPENSES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF THE BOARD.

(o) In Somerset County the board shall appoint a clerk to the board at an annual
salary of [one thousand dollars ($1,000)] $1,800 and may designate an attorney for the
board who shall receive an annual salary of [one thousand dollars ($1,000)] $2,400.

(R) IN SOMERSET COUNTY THE BOARD OF LICENSE
COMMISSIONERS MAY IMPOSE A FINE OF NOT MORE THAN $2,000 OR
SUSPEND A LICENSE OR BOTH FOR ANY VIOLATION THAT IS CAUSE FOR
SUSPENSION UNDER THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LAWS AFFECTING
SOMERSET COUNTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the current chairman and associate members of
the Somerset County Board of License Commissioners in office on the effective date of
this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation of the
chairman and associate members of the Somerset County Board of License
Commissioners shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.
