SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(f) "Secretary" means the Secretary of Human Resources OR THE
SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

Blood Lead and Erythrocyte Protoporphyrin Tests - Reporting

FOR the purpose of repealing a certain definition relating to a category of blood lead
poisoning that must be reported by statute; requiring that the results of blood lead
or erythrocyte protoporphyrin tests be reported to the Department of the
Environment; requiring the Department to report certain blood lead information
to certain local health departments and the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene; and requiring the Department to adopt certain regulations governing
reporting and sharing of information with to local health departments and the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
