SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

(House Bill 113)

AN ACT concerning

Washington County School Board - Salary

FOR the purpose of increasing the salaries of the Washington County Board of
Education; and providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or
compensation of the incumbent members of the Board.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Education
Section 3-1002(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1989 Replacement Volume and 1989 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

3-1002.

(a) The President of the County Board is entitled to receive [$2,600] $3,700
annually as compensation and the other members are entitled to receive [$2,500] $3,600
each annually as compensation. This compensation is to be paid in 12 equal monthly
installments.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
§ 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply
to the salary or compensation of the President and members of the Washington County
Board of Education in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this
Act concerning the salary or compensation of the President and members of the
Washington County Board of Education shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.
