(Senate Bill 407)

AN ACT concerning

Somerset County - Liquor Control Board

FOR the purpose of altering the annual compensation of the members of the liquor
control board for Somerset County; providing for an annual compensation for the
Chairman of the board; and providing that this Act does not affect the incumbent
members of the board.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
Section 159(h)(5)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

159.

(h) Members of the several boards shall receive compensation as follows:

(5) IN Somerset County[ —One thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per annum.]:

(I) THE CHAIRMAN $2,500 ANNUALLY; AND

(II) EACH MEMBER $2,000 ANNUALLY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the Chairman and members of the Somerset
County Liquor Control Board in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation of the Chairman and
members of the Somerset County Liquor Control Board shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
