RESOLUTION 89-2

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Brentwood adopted a
Resolution on February 6, 1989 to create a Town Council elected on an at-large basis,
rather than the prior ward system of representation; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Legislative Reference has advised the Town that
the previously adopted Resolution amending the Town Charter is unclear as to the
deletion of all the sub-sections of Section 201.0, describing ward boundaries; and

WHEREAS, the Town wishes to clarify any possible confusion in the Charter.

BE IT RESOLVED, that

The Charter of the Town of Brentwood be amended accordingly.

[Section(s) 201.0, 201.1, 201.2, 201.3, and 201.4 of the Charter of the Town of
Brentwood, Prince George's County, as found in the compilation of Municipal Charters
of Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed.

COLLECTOR - POWERS AND DUTIES GENERALLY; BOND"), SECTION 16-40
("SAME - TERM OF OFFICE; SALARY"), SECTION 16-41 ("SAME -
AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE PAYMENT OF TAXES AND CONVEY
PROPERTY"), AND SECTION 16-42 ("SAME - USE OF BOOKKEEPING
SYSTEM ESTABLISHED BY AUDITOR") AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF
A NEW SECTION 16-39 ("TOWN ADMINISTRATOR").
