AN ACT concerning

Calvert County - Length of Service Award Program - Eligibility Age

FOR the purpose of altering the age at which certain volunteer members of Calvert
County volunteer fire companies or volunteer rescue squads may qualify for
benefits under a length of service award program.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 5 - Calvert County

14-102.

(b) Beginning January 1, 1986, any individual who has reached the age of [60] 55
and who has completed a minimum of 25 years of certified active volunteer service, with
any Calvert County volunteer fire company or volunteer rescue squad or any
combination of volunteer fire company service and volunteer rescue squad service, shall
receive benefits in the amount of $275 per month, for life. Payments shall begin on the
first day of the first month following eligibility and payments shall be made directly to
the volunteer entitled to the benefits.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
