AN ACT concerning

Fishing Licenses - Free Fishing Days

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Secretary of Natural Resources to designate
certain free fishing days annually for persons to fish for recreational purposes
without a license certain licenses in the tidal and nontidal waters of the State.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

BY REGULATION, THE SECRETARY MAY ESTABLISH UP TO 3 FREE
FISHING DAYS EACH CALENDAR YEAR WHEN A PERSON MAY CATCH
FINFISH IN THE TIDAL AND NONTIDAL WATERS OF THE STATE FOR
RECREATIONAL PURPOSES WITHOUT AN ANGLER'S LICENSE OR
CHESAPEAKE BAY SPORT FISHING LICENSE.

(d) An angler's license is not required of the following:

(1) The owner or tenant of land bordering on nontidal water, his spouse
and children, or the spouse of any child who resides on the land with the owner or
tenant when he fishes in nontidal water adjoining his land;

(2) Any convalescent patient of a veteran's hospital hospitalized for a
service connected disability who fishes in nontidal waters if the patient secures a permit
issued by a special service officer of the American Red Cross under authority granted
by the Department;
