Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board - School Personnel Certification
FOR the purpose of creating the Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board;
allowing the State Superintendent, upon receiving advice from and in consultation
with the Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board, to take certain
actions with regard to reciprocity and accreditation; providing for the
membership, power, duties, and organization of the Professional Standards and
Teacher Education Board; requiring the State Board of Education to appoint a
certain review board; providing for the membership and responsibilities of the
review board; transferring the authority of the State Board of Education over the
certification of certain school personnel to the Professional Standards and
Teacher Education Board; providing that the incumbent members of the
Professional Standards and Teacher Education Advisory Board shall serve on the
Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board; authorizing the
Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board to adopt certain regulations
under certain circumstances pertaining to the certification of 'certain school
personnel; providing that certain regulations shall become effective under certain
circumstances; providing that certain regulations may not become effective under
certain circumstances; defining certain terms; specifying the terms of the initial
appointed members of the Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board;
requiring the Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board to consider
certain proposed regulations submitted by the State Board of Education; requiring
certain regulations to be approved by the State Board of Education; and generally
relating to the certification of certain school personnel by the Professional
Standards and Teacher Education Board and to the creation and activities of a
certain review board.
