Ch. 695 LAWS OF MARYLAND

FOR the purpose of altering a requirement that certain persons file certain information
regarding trade names; requiring persons engaged in certain businesses to file a
certificate containing certain information with the Department of Assessments
and Taxation; providing that the Department charge a certain fee for the
recordation and filing of certificates under this Act; exempting from the provisions
of this Act persons who filed certain information with the Department before th«
effective date of this Act; adding to certain cross references of this Act; making
certain stylistic changes
a certain date; providing that the name of a corporation
or a limited partnership may not be the same as or misleadingly similar to a trade
name filed with the Department of Assessments and Taxation; providing that a
trade name may not be the same as or misleadingly similar to the registered or
reserved name of a corporation or limited partnership; providing that certain
certificates regarding trade names are effective for a certain period; providing for
renewal of certificates; providing for a delayed effective date; and generally
relating to the filing requirements of certain trade names.
