CHAPTER 661
(House Bill 1187)

AN ACT concerning

Health Occupations - Rehabilitation Committees

FOR the purpose of establishing rehabilitation committees for certain purposes for
audiologists, chiropractors, dental hygienists, dietitians, nutritionists,
electrologists, morticians, nursing home administrators, occupational therapists,
optometrists, podiatrists, professional counselors, psychologists, social workers,
and speech-language pathologists; authorizing rehabilitation committees to
function solely for their board or jointly with a rehabilitation committee
representing another board or boards; providing for the composition of
rehabilitation committees; providing certain powers and duties for a rehabilitation
committee; granting rehabilitation committees certain immunity from certain civil
liability under certain circumstances; providing that the proceedings, records, and
files of a rehabilitation committee are not discoverable and not admissible in
evidence in certain civil actions or certain arbitration proceedings; and generally
relating to rehabilitation committees for certain health occupations.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

2-317.

(A) IN THIS SECTION, "AUDIOLOGIST REHABILITATION
COMMITTEE" MEANS A COMMITTEE THAT:

(1) IS DEFINED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION; AND

(2) PERFORMS ANY OF THE FUNCTIONS LISTED IN
SUBSECTION (C) (D) OF THIS SECTION.

(B) FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, AN AUDIOLOGIST
REHABILITATION COMMITTEE IS A COMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OR A
