alteration of the county boundary, the provisions of this Act are null and void. However,
if the Board of Supervisors of Elections of Montgomery County determines that there
are no legally qualified voters in that part of Montgomery County affected by this Act,
a referendum is not necessary before this Act takes effect.
SECTION 3 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if a majority of the
votes cast in the election are for the alteration of the county boundary, that part of
Montgomery County affected by this Act shall be a part of Prince George's County, and
the inhabitants shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges as are held and enjoyed
by the inhabitants of Prince George's County. If the boundary between Montgomery
County and Prince George's County is altered as provided in this Act, the inhabitants of
the area affected by this Act cease to have any claim of interest in any county property
belonging to Montgomery County.
SECTION 4 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the County
Executive and County Council of Montgomery County and the County Executive and
County Council of Prince George's County shall do all those things necessary and
proper to implement this Act.
SECTION 5 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the
provisions of Section 3 3 of this Act and for the sole purpose of providing for the
referendum required by this Act, this Act shall take effect July 1, 1990.
