WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 569

PURPOSE IN ANY PLACE WHERE A BLIND OR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED
OR DEAF OR HEARING IMPAIRED PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO BE
ACCOMPANIED BY A GUIDE DOG.

(II) A MOBILITY IMPAIRED PERSON ACCOMPANIED BY A
GUIDE DOG AS DESCRIBED UNDER THIS SUBSECTION MAY NOT BE
REQUIRED TO PAY EXTRA COMPENSATION FOR THE GUIDE DOG,
PROVIDED THE MOBILITY IMPAIRED PERSON MAY BE LIABLE FOR ANY
DAMAGES TO THE PREMISES OR FACILITIES CAUSED BY THE GUIDE
DOG.

(2) (3) THIS SECTION DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY PHYSICAL
MODIFICATION OF ANY PLACE OR VEHICLE IN ORDER TO ADMIT A
MOBILITY IMPAIRED PERSON ACCOMPANIED BY A GUIDE DOG.

(3) (4) ANY PERSON WHO DENIES OR INTERFERES WITH THE
ADMITTANCE OF A GUIDE DOG ACCOMPANYING A MOBILITY IMPAIRED
PERSON IS SUBJECT TO THE SAME PENALTIES AS PROVIDED IN
SUBSECTION (G) OF THIS SECTION FOR THE DENIAL OR INTERFERENCE
WITH THE ADMITTANCE OF A GUIDE DOG ACCOMPANYING A BLIND OR
VISUALLY HANDICAPPED OR DEAF OR HEARING IMPAIRED PERSON.

(K) (1) A BLIND OR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED OR DEAF OR
HEARING IMPAIRED OR MOBILITY IMPAIRED PERSON ACCOMPANIED BY
A GUIDE DOG IS STRICTLY AND SOLELY LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL
INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE BY THAT DOG.

(2) A BLIND OR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED OR DEAF OR
HEARING IMPAIRED OR MOBILITY IMPAIRED PERSON ACCOMPANIED BY
A GUIDE DOG MAY BE REQUIRED TO DISPLAY IDENTIFICATION
DEMONSTRATING THAT THE DOG HAS BEEN LICENSED AS A GUIDE DOG
IN ITS STATE OF RESIDENCE.

Article 56 - Licenses

192.

(a) If the application shall disclose and the clerk be satisfied that the dog for
which the license is sought is a "dog [ guide,"] GUIDE", PROFESSIONALLY trained
to aid the blind OR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED or deaf or hearing impaired, OR
MOBILITY IMPAIRED, as the case may be, and actually in use for such purpose, the
license therefor shall be issued without the payment of any fee and the clerk shall
inscribe across the face of the license in red ink the words "dog [guide."] GUIDE".

(b) (1) [If the dog for which the license is sought is to aid the deaf or hearing
impaired, the] THE application shall be accompanied by an affidavit from the owner or
owners stating that the dog for which the license is sought has been
PROFESSIONALLY trained [to aid the deaf or hearing impaired] AS A DOG GUIDE
AND STATING THAT THE OWNER IS OR OWNERS ARE AWARE THAT THE
OWNER ASSUMES SOLE LIABILITY FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY OR
