Ch. 485 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(1988 Replacement Volume and 1989 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

251C.

(A) IN THIS SECTION, "BUILDING CODE" INCLUDES A MECHANICAL,
ELECTRICAL, FIRE, PLUMBING, ENERGY, HEATING, VENTILATION, AND
AIR CONDITIONING CODE.

(B) THE APPLICABLE BUILDING AND PERMITS DEPARTMENT OF
EACH COUNTY, MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND BALTIMORE CITY
SHALL NOTIFY THE COMMISSION OF ANY HOME IMPROVEMENT
CONTRACTOR THAT HAS FAILED TO CORRECT A VIOLATION OF ANY
APPLICABLE LOCAL OR STATE BUILDING CODE IF THE CONTRACTOR
HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THE VIOLATION WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME
AFTER RECEIVING NOTIFICATION OF THE VIOLATION.

257.

(b) The applicant shall file with the Commission information that includes, but
is not limited to:

(1) A complete statement of the general nature of the applicant's
contracting business or his duties, if the applicant is a [salesperson.] SALESPERSON;

(2) If the applicant is an individual, his name and address; if a partnership,
the names and addresses of all partners; if a joint venture, the names and addresses of
the parties to it; if 'a corporation, the names and addresses of all [officers.] OFFICERS;

(3) A record of the previous experience of the applicant in the field of
home improvements or other construction work, including dates and addresses of where
the applicant has resided and done [business.] BUSINESS;

(4) Whether the applicant has ever been licensed in Maryland or any other
state or has had a professional or a vocational license refused, suspended, or [revoked.]
REVOKED;

(5) Whether the applicant is self-insured or carries policies of workmen's
[compensation.] COMPENSATION; AND

(6) IF THE APPLICANT IS A CORPORATION OFFERS OR
PROVIDES SERVICES THROUGH A CORPORATION OR PARTNERSHIP, THE
NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE APPLICANT'S CORPORATION'S OR
PARTNERSHIP'S RESIDENT AGENT IN THIS STATE.

(h) (1) Unless revoked or suspended by the Commission AND EXCEPT AS
MAY BE DETERMINED BY THE SECRETARY UNDER PARAGRAPH (2) OF
THIS SUBSECTION a license shall expire on June 30 of each odd-numbered year and
