Ch. 478 LAWS OF MARYLAND
ARTICLE I, § 9, OF THE MARYLAND CONSTITUTION.

C. THE DEPUTY TREASURER SHALL RECEIVE SUCH ANNUAL
SALARY AS SHALL BE PRESCRIBED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS, BUT NOT LESS THAN TWO THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,700.), TO BE PAID ONCE EVERY TWO (2) WEEKS.

D. EXPENSES.

(1) THE TREASURER SHALL BE ALLOWED HIS TRAVELING
AND OTHER EXPENSES MADE NECESSARY IN THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS
DUTIES WHICH SHALL BE PAID BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS.

(2) EACH VOUCHER FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES
SHALL INCLUDE THE INFORMATION REQUIRED BY THE STATE
STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

(3) APPROVED MILEAGE EXPENSES SHALL BE REIMBURSED
AT THE RATE AND IN THE MANNER AUTHORIZED UNDER THE STATE
STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

E. IN THE CASE OF DEATH, RESIGNATION, REMOVAL OR
OTHERWISE OF THE TREASURER OF THE COUNTY, THE GOVERNOR OF
MARYLAND, WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE VACANCY WAS
CREATED, SHALL APPOINT A PERSON TO FILL THE VACANCY FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE UNEXPIRED TERM- THE APPOINTEE SHALL BE
APPOINTED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE STATE CENTRAL
COMMITTEE FOR THE COUNTY OF THE PARTY OF THE PERSON CAUSING
THE VACANCY; AND SHALL BE SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION BY THE
SENATE OF MARYLAND. THE APPOINTEE SHALL TAKE THE OATH OF
OFFICE PRESCRIBED BY THE CONSTITUTION AND SHALL EXECUTE THE
BONDS REQUIRED BY THIS SECTION.

78-2. DUTIES GENERALLY.

IT SHALL BE THE DUTY OF THE TREASURER OF CECIL COUNTY IN
EACH AND EVERY YEAR, AS SOON AS THE ANNUAL LEVY IS MADE, TO
GIVE PUBLIC NOTICE THEREOF BY ADVERTISEMENT IN ONE (1)
NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID COUNTY, AND SAID LEVY SHALL BE
DUE AND PAYABLE ON THE FIRST DAY OF JULY OF THE YEAR IN WHICH
IT IS MADE, AND HE SHALL REPORT TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON THE SECOND TUESDAY
IN EACH MONTH, THE AMOUNT OF TAXES OF ALL KINDS RECEIVED BY
HIM UP TO THAT DATE, THE AMOUNT OF DISBURSEMENTS MADE AND
THE BALANCE REMAINING IN HIS HANDS; AND HE SHALL DEPOSIT AT
THE CLOSE OF EACH WEEK, IN BANKS OR INSURED SAVINGS AND LOAN
ASSOCIATIONS DESIGNATED BY THE BOARD, ALL MONIES THAT MAY
HAVE COME INTO HIS HANDS DURING SAID WEEK, THE PORTION
BELONGING TO THE STATE TO THE CREDIT OF THE COMPTROLLER OF
