Ch. 421 LAWS OF MARYLAND
Maryland Correctional Institution for Women and acquire land and prepare
specifications for construction of a pre-release/work-release unit for women to be
used to provide a portion of the funds to design, construct, and equip additional
housing at Patuxent Institution and Central Laundry Pre-Release Unit; amending
Chapter 670 of the Acts of 1983, the General Construction Loan of 1983, to
permit funds remaining in the appropriation to design and prepare detailed plans
and specifications for a multi-purpose building at Brockbridge Correctional
Facility to be used to provide a portion of the funds to design, construct, and
equip additional housing at Patuxent Institution and Central Laundry
Pre-Release Unit; amending Chapter 125 of the Acts of 1985, the General
Construction Loan of 1985, to permit funds remaining in the appropriation for the
restoration of the roofs on the Wood, Paint, and Tag Shops at the Maryland
House of Correction to be used to provide a portion of the funds to design,
construct, and equip additional housing at Patuxent Institution and Central
Laundry Pre-Release Unit; amending Chapter 125 of the Acts of 1985, the
General Construction Loan of 1985, to permit funds remaining in the
supplemental appropriation for the alteration of the Print Shop to
Library/Education Space at the Maryland Penitentiary to be used to provide a
portion of the funds to design, construct, and equip additional housing at Patuxent
Institution and Central Laundry Pre-Release Unit; amending Chapter 286 of the
Acts of 1986, the General Construction Loan of 1986, to permit a portion of the
funds remaining in the appropriation to construct the Centreville State Police
Barracks to be used to supplement the appropriation to design, construct, and
equip a Garage/Communications Building at Prince Frederick; amending Chapter
597 of the Acts of 1987, the General Construction Loan of 1987 to reduce the
authorized total principal amount and, to permit a portion of the funds
appropriated for the renovation of the HVAC system at the Thomas B. Finan
Center to be used to supplement the appropriation to construct enclosed
walkways from cottages to Activities Building at the Brandenburg Center;
amending Chapter 542 of the Acts of 1988, the General Construction Loan of
1988, to permit a portion of the funds remaining from the appropriation to design,
construct, and equip three 192-cell medium security housing units and a program
building at the Hagerstown Correctional Complex to be used to provide a portion
of the funds to construct two additional 192-cell maximum security housing units
at the Maryland House of Correction and to permit the funds appropriated for
construction of the 72-bed pre-release facility for women in Baltimore City also to
be used for the purchase of capital equipment for the 72-bed pre-release facility
for women and to provide a portion of the funds to construct two additional 192-cell
maximum security housing units at the Maryland House of Correction; amending
Chapter 98 of the Acts of 1989, the General Construction Loan of 1989, to permit
a portion of the funds remaining from the appropriation to construct a 192-cell
and 144-cell maximum security housing unit at the Maryland House of Correction
to be used to purchase capital equipment for the housing units and to provide a
portion of the funds to construct two additional 192-cell maximum security
housing units at the Maryland House of Correction, and to permit the funds
appropriated for construction of a Visitor's Registration Center at the Maryland
Correctional Institution for Women to be also used for the purchase of capital
