Ch. 399 LAWS OF MARYLAND

Article 78B - Racing Commission

19.

(a) (1) [The] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, THE State share of daily licensee fees, pari-mutuel taxes, impact aid
amounts to be paid under § 14 of this article, and uncashed pari-mutuel tickets shall be
credited to a special fund.

(2) ALL UNCASHED PARI-MUTUEL TICKETS FROM RACES
CONDUCTED BY A LICENSEE UNDER § 17 OF THIS ARTICLE SHALL BE
CREDITED TO THE MARYLAND STANDARDBRED RACE FUND AND
ALLOCATED TO THE MARYLAND STANDARDBRED SIRES STAKES
PROGRAM.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read
as follows:

(b) (4) The Comptroller shall annually pay from the special fund [$10,000]
$40,000 as a grant to the Great Frederick Fair to support exhibition harness races, with
the funds to be used for purses, CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF NEW
STALLS, and track maintenance.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read
as follows:

shall take effect July 1, 1990.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1990. It shall remain effective for a period of 4 years and, at the end of
June 30, 1994, and with no further action required by the General Assembly, Section 2 of
this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 3 of this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1994.
