(6) (I) THE BOARD MAY ISSUE A TEMPORARY LICENSE TO
ANY APPLICANT FOR A LICENSE TO PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSING OR
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING WHO WAS PREVIOUSLY LICENSED IN
ANY OTHER STATE TO PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSING OR LICENSED
PRACTICAL NURSING AND WHO, EXCEPT FOR THE ORAL COMPETENCY
IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPONENT, IS OTHERWISE QUALIFIED
FOR A LICENSE.

(II) A TEMPORARY LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS
SUBSECTION IS VALID ONLY UNTIL THE DATE WHEN THE NEXT TEST TO
DEMONSTRATE ORAL COMPETENCY IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS

GIVEN.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

Talbot County Detention Center Loan of 1989

FOR the purpose of amending Chapter 257 of the Acts of 1989, the Talbot County
Detention Center Loan of 1989, to alter the amount of the matching fund to be
provided by the County Council of Talbot County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 257 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1989
Section 1

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:

(1) The Board of Public Works may borrow money and incur indebtedness on
behalf of the State of Maryland through a State loan to be known as the Talbot County
Detention Center Loan of 1989 in the total principal amount of $5,250,000. This loan
shall be evidenced by the issuance, sale, and delivery of State general obligation bonds
authorized by a resolution of the Board of Public Works and issued, sold, and delivered
in accordance with §§ 8-117 through 8-124 of the State Finance and Procurement
Article and Article 31, § 22 of the Code.
