AN ACT concerning

Frederick County Commissioners - Benefits

FOR the purpose of clarifying that the benefits to which Frederick County employees
are entitled are also available to the board of county commissioners; and
respecifying that the salary increase made in Chapter 81 of the Acts of 1989 is not
applicable to the incumbent board members.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 11 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 11 - Frederick County

2-2-18.

(A) Each member of the board of county commissioners is entitled to an annual
salary of $30,000 as full compensation for services as a member of the board of county
commissioners or as a member of any other county board or agency. In addition, each
member of the board of county commissioners is entitled to reimbursement for
expenses incurred in the performance of the duties of the member as may be provided
in the annual county budget.

(B) EACH MEMBER IS ENTITLED TO THOSE FRINGE BENEFITS
REGULARLY PROVIDED TO COUNTY EMPLOYEES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, Section 2-2-18(a) of this Act may not be
construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation of a Frederick County
Commissioner in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of that
section concerning the salary or compensation of the Frederick County Commissioners
shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.
