SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That by June 30. 1991, and by
June 30 each year thereafter, the governing boards of the public senior higher education
institutions shall prepare and submit a report to the Legislative Policy Committee of the
General Assembly of the approvals granted under the provisions of this Act during the
previous year by the institutions they govern.

SECTION 3 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

Higher Education - Distinguished Scholar Program

Scholar Award; and requiring the submission of a certain report.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

18-1102.

(c) (1) (i) Subject to subparagraph (ii) of this paragraph, the scholarship
award shall be in the amount of $3,000 for use in the next ensuing academic year.

(ii) A recipient's award may not exceed the cost of attendance as
defined in § 18-1302(g) of this title.
