Ch. 311 LAWS OF MARYLAND

who acts in good faith and within the scope of the jurisdiction of the committee is not
civilly liable or subject to a disciplinary proceeding for:

(1) an action as a member of the committee; or

(2) giving information to, participating in, or contributing to the
functioning of the committee.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall be
construed only prospectively and may not be applied or interpreted to have any effect
on or application to any cause of action arising before the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

Zoning - Historic Districts

FOR the purpose of altering certain zoning requirements concerning the visibility of
certain changes affecting the exterior appearance of structures in a historic
district in certain jurisdictions in the State.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 66B - Zoning and Planning
Section 8.05

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1988 Replacement Volume and 1989 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 66B - Zoning and Planning

Before the construction, alteration, reconstruction, moving, or demolition of any
structure is made within the county or municipal corporation, if any changes are
involved which would affect the exterior appearance of a structure WITHIN A
LOCALLY DESIGNATED HISTORIC DISTRICT AND visible or intended to be
visible from an adjacent public way [in the district], the person, individual, firm, or
corporation proposing to make the construction or change shall file with the
commission an application for permission to build, alter, reconstruct, move, demolish,
