assessments. This information was furnished to the Commission on
cards, now a part of the permanent records of this office, and steps
were then taken by this Commission to correct the mistakes and
omissions heretofore existing. The result of the work in this line
is shown in tabulated form:

At the request of some of the clerks of courts a form of appli-
cation was prepared, for use by all applicants for traders' licenses,
which was suitable either if the person appeared in person before
the clerk of the court or before a proper officer in any part of the
county remote from the county seat. The following is a copy of
