Lawson, Bayless, Roop,

Landing, McCoy, Gorsuch—15.

Said bill was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Wallis,

The communication received from the Executive, contain-
ing information in regard to the Frederick Barracks,

Was referred to the committee on Military Affairs.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills,
severally endorsed,

"Passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled,, an act appropriating one hundred dollars
in payment of the salary due Thomas A. Mitchell, Sergeant
at-Arms of the Senate, on the first day of January, 1861, as
keeper of the chamber and committee rooms, in the recess of
the Legislature ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Maxwell moved a suspension of the rules, to put the
bill upon its second reading ;

Which was not sustained.

The bill was then referred to the committee on Claims.

Also a bill entitled, an act to repeal 198th section of Arti-
cle XlXth of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to Pub-
lic Schools in Somerset county ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Somerset
delegation.

Also a bill to release from the payment of interest, the
sureties on the official bond of Samuel L. Duhamel, Collector
of Taxes for the first Election District of Queen Anne's
county, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-seven ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Chaplain, from Talbot delegation, made a favorable
report upon the Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the one
hundred ami fifty-first, and the one hundred and fifty-fourth;
