fectioners in the city of Baltimore, praying the passage of a
law allowing the Confectioners of the said city, to keep their
stores open on Sunday.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city delega-
tion.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage:

The House bill entitled, An Act to amend Article XIIth
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the payment
of specie by the banks .of this State ;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

Also house bill with proposed amendment, entitled, an act
to amend the IVth Article of the Code of Public Local Laws,
by repealing the 161st, 162nd, 163rd: 164th, 165th, 166th,
167th, 168th, 169th, 170th, 171st and 172nd sections thereof;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."
Amendment proposed.

Amendment of title, "relating to the Superior Court of
Baltimore city;"

Which was adopted,

Mr. Pitts reported unfavorably upon the bill entitled, an
act to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
issue small notes to a limited, extent, to be used as a cur-
rency ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Brune presented the petition of citizens of Baltimore in
regard to re-building the bridges and removing obstructions
upon the lines communicating with Baltimore ;

Which was referred to the committee on Federal Relations.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following resolu-
tions :

A resolution appointing a Commissioner to Virginia.
Also, resolutions in reference to mileage.
Severally endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."
Also delivered the following resolution :

Resolved, By the General Assembly of Maryland, that
John M. Robinson, be and he is hereby appointed a Commit-
