The proceedings of yesterday were read.
On motion of Mr. Gordon,
Chairman of the committee on the Judiciary, the petition
of John W. Nevins, for a charter for the Maryland Mercan-
tile College, was referred to the next General Assembly.
Mr. Stake offered the following :
Ordered, That it be entered upon the journal, that if Mr.
Stake had been present on yesterday, when the vote was ta-
ken on the bill exempting certain amount of property from
execution, he would have voted affirmatively ;
Which was adopted.
Mr. Maxwell offered the following :
Ordered, That when this House adjourn, it stands ad-
journed until Monday next, at 12 o'clock, M.
