So the amendment was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the third "amendment
proposed,"

Section third, line five, strike out "three" and insert
"one,"

Was adopted.

The next "amendment proposed,"

Section third, line eight, strike out "three" and insert
"one."

Was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the following "amend-
ment proposed,"

Section third, line sixteen, strike out the words "the sum
of three," and insert "more than one;"

It was adopted.

The next "amendment proposed,"

Section six, strike out all after the word "exist" in line five
to the end of the section ;

Was adopted.

The bill with amendments was then read the second time,

Mr. Maxwell moved to suspend the rules, to give the bill a,
third reading.
