Senate resolutions appointing two committees
of four to visit Presidents Lincoln and Davis,
adopted, 155; report of committee to President
Lincoln made and accepted, 161; report of com-
mittee to President Davis made and adopted, 270.

Order, that the committee on Claims be in-
structed to pay the expenses of the committees
sent by an order of the Legislature to Washing-
ton and Montgomery, adopted, 238.

Petition of citizens of Montgomery county for a
State Convention and an appropriation to arm the
citizens of Maryland to defend their homes, refer-
red to, 111.

Message from the Governor enclosing commu-
nication in relation to the seizure of engines and
cars on the Western Maryland Railroad by per-
sons from Baltimore, also enclosing petition from
citizens of Montgomery county for protection far
transportation of produce to the District of Co-
lumbia, also, copy of a letter complaining of out-
rages by Virginia troops on our soil, referred to,
123; report made thereon, 139; resolution that
the petition of citizens of Montgomery county, and
the letter complaining of outrages be referred to the
special commissioner to Virginia, O. Horsey,
Esq., with instructions, &c., adopted, 145.
