THURSDAY, June 13, 1861.

The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Grover.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Durant, Morgan, Rasin, Med-
dcrs, Welch, Mackubin, Briscoe, Parran, Compton, Burgess,
Ford, Denison, Quinlan, Renshaw., Jones, of Talbot, Chap-

lain, Dennis, of Somerset, Stanford, Lawson, McIntire, Max-

well, Miller, Bryan, Wootten, Jones, of Prince George's,
Starkey, Jacobs, Landing, Kessler, Claggett, Salmon, Naill,
Straughn, Goldsborough, Warfield, Brune, Wiuans, Pitts,
Harrison, Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Morfit, Scott, Wilson,
Bayless, McCoy, Eakle, Brining, Fiery, Stake, Gordon,
McCleary, Roop, Mills, Turner, Brown.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Salmon presented the petition of Hugh McAleer, Da-
vid O. Thomas, McC. Young, Jr., and one hundred and
twenty-seven other citizens of Frederick county against the
adjournment of the Legislature sine die;

Which was read and referred to a joint select committee on
that subject.

Mr. Briniag presented the petition of David Cushwa

and others in relation to Public Schools in Washington

county:

Which was referred to the Washington county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Jones, of Talbot.

Leave was granted to the Talbot county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to amend article XX of the Code of Public
Local Laws, relating to jurors in Talbot county.

Mr. Gordon, chairman of the Judiciary committee, reported
favorably upon a bill entitled, an act to make valid the ac-
knowledgment of a deed of leasehold ground in Baltimore
city from Louis Barre to Louis Delacare Marchand, and to
admit the same to record;
