Somerset, Long, Lawson, Holland, Bryan, Wootten, Legg,
Starkey, Landing, Dennis, of Worcester, Kessler, Claggett,
Routzahn, Johnson, Salmon, Naill, Straughn, Goldsborough,
Warfield, Brune, Winans, Pitts, Harrison, Thomas, Wallis,
Sangston, Morfit, Scott, Wilson of Harford, Bayless, McCoy,
Coudy, Eakle, Brining, Stake, Griffith, Harding, Gordon,
Barnard, McCleary, Roop, Gorsuch, Mills, Turner, Brown,

Mr. Bryan presented the following :

I protest against the action of the House, which refused to
excuse me from voting upon the majority and minority re-
ports of the committee, both of which are against secession,
as I, one of the representatives of Prince George's county,
am in favor of secession.

E. PLINY BRYAN.

Which was read and ordered to be entered on the journal.
Mr, McCleary offered the following:

Ordered, That the Sergeant-at-Arms of this House procure
six additional tabels for the use of the members of this
House.

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Brune,

Leave was granted the committee of Ways and Means to-
prepare and report a bill appropriating two millions of dol-
lars, to be expended in placing the State of Maryland in a
complete condition of organization and defence, under such
direction as the General Assembly may hereafter provide.

Mr. McCleary offered the follwing :

Ordered, That the committee on Currency be directed to
report a bill legalizing the suspension of specie payments by
the banks of this State,

Which was adopted.
Also, the following :

Ordered, That the Sergeant-at-Arms procure suitable seats
for the ladies of the city.
Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr, Ford at 4 3-4 o'clock, P. M., the House
adjourned.
