In the first resolution strike out the word "instructed,"
and insert the words "earnestly desired and requested,'
pending the conderation of which the yeas and nays were or-
dered and appeared as follow:

In the first resolution, second line, strike out the word
"Congress," and insert "Senate;".

Mr. Briscoe, proposed the following amendment!

In the second resolution strike out the words "and instruc-
tions;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. McCleary moved to lay the resolutions Upon the table;

Which was rejected.
