Mr. Fiery presented the petition of three hundred citizent
of Washington county, in relation to an adjournment sine die
of the Legislature;
Which was referred to the select committee.
Mr. Bryan presented the petition of sundry citizens of Prince
George's county, asking the repeal of the law appointing
Commissioners to sell the State Tobacco Warehouses;
Which was referred to a select committee, consisting of
Messrs. Briscoe, Warfield, Mackubin, Compton and Bryan.
Mr. Wallis presented the following order:
Ordered, That the Governor be and he is hereby again re-
spectfully requested to furnish to this House, without delay,
copies of all correspondence which may have taken place be-
tween himself and any officer or officers of the General Gov-
ernment, since the 4th of March last, or if there be any suffi-
cient reason in his judgment for withholding the said corres-
pondence, that he be pleased to communicate the same to this
House;

Mr. Mackubin, from the committee on Claims, presented
the following
REPORT:
In obedience to an order of the House of Delegates, at its
January session, 1860, the committee on Claims have
carefully examined the books and vouchers in the offices of
the Treasurer and Comptroller for the years 1856, 1857, 1858,
1859, and from the 1st January, 1860, to the 14th February,
of the same year, (the day on which Dr. D. Claude retired
from the office of Treasurer) and report that they found the
books and vouchers for the receipt and payment of money to
correspond, and the books in both offices, kept with a degree
of neatness and accuracy highly creditable to the officers in
charge.

Mr. Pitts, from the select committee, reported a bill en-
titled, an act to amend article IV of the Code of Public Local
